Ideal for the chemically sensitive or those with small children, the Bissell Steam Mop deep-cleans hard-surface floors using the power of pure water alone. No harsh (or expensive) cleaners means no fumes or residues to irritate lungs or muddy delicate finishes, while the use of hot steam rather than buckets of water leaves floors dry in just seconds. Heated and ready to use in 30 seconds, the remarkably quiet mechanism works something like an iron: steam is dispensed on demand, rather than continuously, by pressing the trigger while passing the mop over the floor. Hot steam easily removes hardened and sticky gunk, especially if the mop sits over the mess for a few seconds. (Leave it in place 15 seconds to actually sanitize the cleaning surface.) The machine steams for approximately 15 minutes before the tank needs to be refilled, but there's no lag once you refill it.

Does the job it's made for
I think the mop does a great job helping to keep hard floors clean. I wouldn't use it to clean a truly filthy floor--use a old fashion mop and bucket first--but using it to catch the sticky spots and light daily dirt works great. Water heats up fast and is easy to use. For me, the floor dries faster than with a regular mop and there is none of that left over residue from chemical floor cleaner. Would have given it a 5 star rating but the electrical cord is short for a big kitchen and one of the mop heads seams started to come apart after the second wash. Overall, I am very pleased so far with the mops performance.

This mop is the best thing they have ever made if you have alot of tile. It is not back breaking and really cleans your floor. AMAZING!

I really enjoy my bissell steam mop, my hubby purchased it for me for xmas. I had never heard of it before then. It is a miracle mop. We have a 2 year old that loves to spit her milk out of her cup, and if we don't catch it in time, it dries on our hardwood floors and creates quite a mess. Usually when i mop, I have to scrub the area where the milk or whatever it, since it won't just come up. But with the steam mop, I let the steam hit it for a couple of mins and then its gone, its not sticky and I haven't seen any streaks like other reviews have seen. I absolutely love the steam mop. It beats spending x amount of money on hardwood floor cleaners and I don't have to get out my mop and bucket. I would recommend this product to anyone!
